I look forward to the essays on what exactly RD did do wrong in this cluster of a session, and the nine pages of debate over whether any of it was really that bad.

Nah, I'm with her. She ended up okay. Also we got this hilarious page out of it.
Balrighty 22nd Dec 2018, 6:16 AM edit delete reply
Arguably, the worst she did was simply not bringing up Cloudsdale after she reunited with the others. Discord was threatening all of Equestria anyway, so his specific targeting of Cloudsdale during Dash's test didn't really change much. It's not like the understanding was "all of Equestria but Cloudsdale is in danger from the Chaos god, but thanks to Dash, now it's being threatened as well". She should have mentioned it so they knew that they might specifically have to go and put it back in order, but they knew in general they were going to have to do that anyway.
So really, all her worst is is a highly efficient understanding of the situation. If that's it, then she gets to wear the sunglasses for this.
Phosphora 22nd Dec 2018, 6:24 AM edit delete reply
Not only that, but ... he's a being of pure chaos. Her turning down the offer doesn't mean he's going to target Cloudsdale. Her accepting the offer doesn't mean he'd spare it. It's a flip of the coin either way, so focus on the end game.
Phosphora 22nd Dec 2018, 6:23 AM edit delete reply
She's not wrong. For once, she was the one maintaining fun and she beat the mind games by being too straightforward and focused on the end game. *AND* she stayed in character.
Rainbow did good 22nd Dec 2018, 6:44 AM edit delete reply
Rainbow did the best she could do, she was the intelligent that knew that following Discord game was not going to help and so tried to put a wrench in his plans. After all, there was no proof that Discord was going to leave Cloudsdale even if she agreed.

You know the comments too well, Newbiespud.
Siarles 22nd Dec 2018, 8:53 AM edit delete reply
You sure about that? As of this comment, all of the comments are agreeing with RD.

This is an acceptable outcome.

None may argue with the power of the shades! With a 20% coolness bonus, her charisma trumps everything!

Seriously though, I gotta mostly agree with RD. About the ONLY thing she might have done wrong was not telling them about what challenge or test Discord put in front of her immediately. And as has been pointed out, it’s not as if him targeting it changed anything or raised the stakes any, so I’m giving her a pass on that.

The only OTHER thing she MAY have done wrong is wind up in, she didn’t start it, an argument with applejack over her decision to NOT agree to play the chaos god’s game and get cursed like the rest and focus on the End Game instead.

If the worst things she did were focus on saving the ‘world’ and somebody else picking a fight, she’s pretty much correct.
Guest 22nd Dec 2018, 7:18 AM edit delete reply
I have to agree, Dash did nothing wrong.

Unless if you want to argue that being smug about doing nothing wrong (like the screenshots imply) is doing wrong, but eh, that's stretching
Borg 22nd Dec 2018, 11:17 AM edit delete reply
Well, it is wrong, but it's a very minor wrong. And it's not like they don't expect her to be a bit rude anyway.
Archone 22nd Dec 2018, 9:06 PM edit delete reply
Eh... she did nothing wrong, but she still got lectured as if she did something wrong, just so that Applejack wouldn't be the only one getting chewed out. Also known as the "argument to moderation" or golden mean fallacy.

Unless they want to imply she's at fault for being amused by the roleplay antics of her teammates and not being frustrated by Discord's challenges. Which sounds more like "you're at fault for lacking our faults." Or to put it another way, "you're at fault because we need you to be at fault, so you're guilty until proven guilty."

I'm loving the fact that you expected the comments to say what RD did wrong, but almost everyone agrees that she didn't do anything wrong

It's obvious that Dash is the worst, because honestly you're not even trying if the best you can do is Final Destination with such weak hitters as Dedede, Pikachu, and Ice Climbers.

Now I'm tempted to retroactively read all of RD's lines in Piccolo's voice from DBZA.
Balrighty 22nd Dec 2018, 11:27 AM edit delete reply
Curse you, now I can't unhear that. lol
Chronic Lurker 22nd Dec 2018, 7:26 PM edit delete reply
I'll see your RD in Piccolo voice and raise you Twilight in Gohan voice, the DM as LittleKuriboh playing narrator, and Discord with Cell's voice. ....I may have just gotten done with a DBZ marathon before checking on this comic....

Digo Dragon
I was thinking AJ as Piccolo.
Archone 22nd Dec 2018, 8:55 PM edit delete reply
"Twilight?"
"Yes, Rainbow?"
"DODGE!"

But honestly... who do you see with the voice of Mr Popo?
Balrighty 22nd Dec 2018, 11:19 PM edit delete reply
Drill-Sergeant Pinkie Pie?
ChosenChaos 23rd Dec 2018, 4:59 AM edit delete reply
@Chronic Lurker you mean Takahata101? Given that both Perfect Cell and Alucard are massive trolls in their respective abridged series, that would be perfect.

RAINBOW DASH DID EVERYTHING WRONG! And I'll prove it in the 100 page essay I'll get to writing around...February? I don't have much to do then, so let's say, the 33rd of February? That good for everyone else? Look forward to me MELTING YOUR MIND WITH MY LOGIC BEAMS!
Rastaba 22nd Dec 2018, 12:51 PM edit delete reply
Rastaba
Is it wrong I kind of would look forward to that, if only to see what logic beams look like? Afraid I’m busy the 33rd of February. Can we push it back til the 35th?
DuoScratch 22nd Dec 2018, 8:16 PM edit delete reply
@Rastaba I'll see what I can do, but I was really looking forward to the 35th being clear. Still though, I'd hate to disappoint a reader...

*puts on dunce cap* February only has 28 days, or 29 on a leap year. *goes to sit in corner*

Everything sounds cooler when you're wearing sunglasses inside.

Right up until you walk into random furniture.
Guest 23rd Dec 2018, 12:02 AM edit delete reply
And that's the difference between being cool, and being a poser. Cool people don't walk into furniture while wearing sunglasses indoors.
Guest 23rd Dec 2018, 3:40 AM edit delete reply
Cool people don't walk into furniture, they get into spontaneous fights with the furniture and win with one kick or shove.

I mean...

...She was a team player, putting the team and their success ahead of any personal goals or doing something problematic for her own amusement.

...She recognized that Discord was relying on a more cerebral trap than just "you're locked in a dungeon, DC 25 to notice the secret door."

...She played the game that the GM was offering, playing by the rules.

So... letting her have it implies she doesn't deserve it.
Spud at Work 22nd Dec 2018, 9:40 PM edit delete reply
It could also mean "let her have this one uncontested for once."
Hariman 23rd Dec 2018, 12:55 AM edit delete reply
She was kind of a butt about not falling for Discord's tricks... but not much else that I can recall.

She wasn't perfect, but compared to the others, she's smelling like flowers.
NachoFriend 23rd Dec 2018, 8:06 AM edit delete reply
RD has done something very wrong though! She broke one of the most fundamental laws!

The law if gravity! Seriously how do those shades stay in place when the arms are in front of her ears. IN FRONT OF HER EARS!
Hankroyd 23rd Dec 2018, 8:27 AM edit delete reply
With the hair blocking the fall of the glasses.

If the ears are large enough, the the arms won't be as much ...

And I guess I missed the point of your comment and will stop now.

Uhhh helium? Yeah, let's go with that.

And who are you to question where I draw my arbitrary line in the sand? /s
